FAQ
Do you do commissioned work?
For cozy fantasy? No. I have my own little world that I am quite content with and don’t want to spoil it by working on something else in the same genre. I have worked in other genres (specifically horror and erotica). If there is something you’re looking for, please use the Contact tab to reach out. I’ll happily read your proposal and I’m sure that we can figure something out.
How long does it take you to write a novel?
After almost four decades of writing, I kind of have a system that works for me. From beginning (outlining) to publishing, it’s around 2-3 months. It may seem quicker to those out there that are watching my publishing schedule, but I promise you it isn’t. I average a chapter a day, which is about 3,000-ish words. This means it takes me 3-4 weeks to finish a draft. It takes about the same amount of time to edit that draft. But, I also write another book in between the first two drafts. So, average of 9-10 weeks from the day I start writing to finishing the 2nd draft. Then, I go through and do a read-aloud. That takes about a week or so. Now, we’re up to somewhere between 10-12 weeks from beginning to end.
I probably could finish it quicker, if I really put my mind to it, but I also do other creative pursuits and don’t want to burn out with writing (it has happened before).
Can I meet you?
I am a very private person and more introverted than you might think. As I stated in the “About” section, I am happy to accompany someone to an AA meeting (or something in that same vein). If you want to meet for drinks/coffee/meal/chatting, that’s gonna be a hard “no.” I’m not a social person.
Why the pseudonym?
See above. Also, I don’t want people associating me with my work. I have a certain persona I keep at work and would like to keep it that way. If they discover that I’m all cozy and sweet, then they might want to talk to me and I don’t want that.
